Specialty Fashion Group works with Bryte to uncover real time insights on data generated across 1000+ retail stores
“When we made a strategic decision to move towards the Microsoft Azure platform, Bryte were eager to assist with the newer technologies we wanted to use (some of which were still in limited public preview!) and implemented above expectations. The service and support from the Bryte team is highly commendable.”

Specialty Fashion Group (SFG) is one of Australia’s largest speciality retailers with a portfolio of over 1,000 stores and 7 online businesses. The company sells a garment every second and manages a diverse customer community with over 7 million members. With continued growth in data & a desire to uncover deeper customer insights, SFG selected Bryte as their partner of choice to build a modern, high performance and scalable cloud Data Warehouse with Microsoft Azure to uncover near real time insights on customer data.
Early on in the project, one of the primary challenges identified by the team at SFG was finding partners with the right depth of knowledge and platform expertise with Data or Analytics Implementations on Azure. Bryte was one of Azure’s first certified partners in Australia and came highly recommended by the team at Microsoft based on over 20 years of continued excellence in building real time Enterprise Data Analytics environments. We also provided an end-to-end outcomes based solution with guaranteed delivery which convinced the team that Bryte was the right partner to work with.
One of the key goals for the Group was to enable near real time reporting so that the business could be more agile and make decisions based on current data. A real pain point with the existing on-premise reporting infrastructure was bulk load data ingestion and consequent ETL performance bottlenecks. The challenge was to build a real time data warehouse that could ingest and integrate large volumes of data from various on-premise systems/repositories (including a number of complex legacy systems).
Bryte provided comprehensive professional services to set up the Azure Infrastructure, and then built efficient real time data streaming and data delivery pipelines into the Azure SQL Data Warehouse. This involved a full initial data migration & integration of multiple terabytes of data from various on-premise data sources. The full initial migration was followed by set up of low impact Database log analysis technologies to continuously keep new data in Sync with the Azure Reporting Environment.
